Days' evening concert will be for hall projects

By Kevin Black in Charity

The completion of the refurbishment of the WI Hall in Edenbridge will be celebrated on Saturday, September 23 (8pm) with a piano recital given by the vice chairman of the hall charity, Ken Day, who lives in the town. His daughter Judy Hewitt Day who now teaches piano and bassoon and tai chi in the hall will join him in the concert.

Ken, a former lecturer at Kingston University, moved to Edenbridge in 2001 with his wife Betty to be closer to their grandchildren in Oxted and Leigh. His early years in Edenbridge were spent as pianist for the Forge Singers, the Phoenix Choir and for concerts and exams at schools in Tunbridge.

The programme for September 23 will include classical pieces, and solos and duets for piano.

Tickets £10- all profits to hall projects- will be available from Bradfords, Your Good Health, Foxwood Maclean and from 01732 862472.
